Mon, Sept 19

Off - Lack of time available to run today.

Tue, Sept 20

AM: 7 miles - Springview
Just an easy cruise + 2mi barefoot on the grass.  Pretty hot day (~99deg).

Wed, Sept 21

PM: 4.25 miles - Through Rocklin
WJU - service rd - Whitney Ranch Pkwy - Wildcat Blvd - W. Stanford Ranch - Sunset - WJU xc course.  Threw in 4x100m strides as well.  Heat got to me toward the end, felt tired.

Thur, Sept 22

PM: 3.5 miles - Springview
smooth and easy.

Fri, Sept 23

AM: 2mi - Springview
easy jog to get some blood moving around through the legs.

Sat, Sept 24

AM/PM: 50mi, 5000' - Sierra Nevada 50

Sun, Sept 25

PM: 3.5mi - Springview
Hammies and glutes pretty sore and tight.  Other than that, everything else felt decently well.  Things started to losen up after 20min, but the body communicated it was done at 35min. + ice bath.

Weekly Miles - 70.25

Weekly Vert - 5000' (Probably only 2k+ of that is legitimate gain)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First ultra of the new season and I feel pretty content on how things panned out Saturday.  I felt really consistent, strong, and overall, enjoyed myself throughout the duration of the run.  Sierra Nevada was sort of a spring-board into whatever lay ahead and after I fully recover, will begin to focus on being ready for TNF 50 in December.  As I mentioned in a previous post, October should supply some quality fun runs (Squaw to MB, Hilloween, my bday weekend, so-cal trip with the xc team) which I am totally looking forward to.

As always, taking it one step at a time and am continuing to be in awe and humbled by what God allows me to experience.  This journey continues to be dream-like and I can't help but be thankful to Him that I have an able body which propels me over various landscapes and terrain.  And, I'm blessed by a number of other people in my life whom I have the privilege of sharing this journey with.  So, I'm continuing to move forward in faith and trusting that God has the best plan for my life; whether that looks circumstantially favorable or not is irrelevant, as long as my joy and love are full -- circumstantially happy or not  -- I'm right where I need to be.
